Former Vice President of Nigeria and potential 2019 Presidential Candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar gave a speech at the 2017 Silverbird Man Of The Year Awards where he reacted to the recent news of the mysterious ‘snake’ swallowing our money.
Atiku Said; “ We have to kill the snake of corruption that swallows our commonwealth meant to lift our people out of poverty. Whether the snake is in a JAMB office or any other government office, we must kill it befoe it kills us”.
Meanwhile, Atiku has called out the federal government over outsourcing of projects meant to benefit Nigerians.
Atiku cited airing of the ongoing Big Brother Naija in South Africa and unveiling of Super Eagles World Cup jersey in London as some of instances in which the government had outsourced Nigeria.

The former Vice President, while speaking at Silverbird Man of the year, also condemned treatment of Nigerian elites in hospitals abroad.
He said “Our elite are treated in Europe. #BBNaija is being broadcast from South Africa and @Nike is unveiling our FIFA World Cup Jersey in London. Is this the extent to which we have outsourced Nigeria?
“The solution is to enact laws to prevent leaders from diverting public funds from the public health sector to the treatment of the elite in the best hospitals abroad.
“If you can afford it from your own private resources, then pay for it. But do not make the tax payer pay for it.
“We must accept that the difference between Nigerians is not North and South, Christian and Muslim or PDP and APC.
“The difference is between good and bad people and we must demonstrate that the good are much more than the bad, “Atiku said

"The federal government or the centre should have less power than it has now. It should devolve power to the federating units. We agree with the South-West and the Middle Belt that the federating units should be the zones with the states under them. Each zone should have its constitution. There should be fiscal federalism and resource control.
"We are looking at six zones, three in the South and three in the North. The majority of Ndigbo believe, like the South-West, that the federating units should be the zones. With true restructuring, equality of zones, fiscal federalism and resources control, there will be no need for an additional state in the South-East. Each zone will be free to create as many states at it deems fit without recourse to the centre.’’

“Why Muslims Are Better Than Christians” –Nigerian Pastor Bishop Sam Zuga Blasts Christian Religion

Naijahitplay
Bishop Sam Zuga of the House of Joy Ministry in Benue state, has come under serious criticism on social media after giving a controversial statement on Facebook.
The Bishop says Muslims are better than Christians and gave his reasons… Read,
WHY MUSLIMS ARE BETTER THAN CHRISTIANS.
Mohammed was born in 571 AD, Jesus Christ is 571 years older than Mohammed, how come Muslims are competing with Christians in population?
# people answer the name of Mohammed in the world more than Emmanuel.
Quran have one version, you can only translate to another language, Bible has more than ten versions in English. Muslims pray 5 times in a day, some Christians pray once a week only in church, some don’t even pray at all. Real Muslims read and know Bible more than many Christians but many Christian don’t even have Bible.
Muslims can pray in any mosque they see, Christians can’t even step in some churches.
The moment you are a Muslim, you can be accepted and shown love where Muslims are, Christians will ask you from which church? If you don’t mention the name of his or her church, you are on your own. I have been accepted to offer free medical treatment exercise in many mosques and preached in many, many Muslims do attend my church programmes all over the world, some even come to our church headquarters in Gboko, Christians can’t do that to a Muslim. The moment you mention God, a Muslim will believe you and give you attention, he will go ahead and introduce you to other Muslims and whatever he says about you they will believe him.
When you mention God to a Christian, you become a suspect, they will call council of elders to interview you to know the type of God you are talking about, whether is a Catholic Church God, Anglican, Living Faith or Deeper life. Muslims have factions like Christians, but if you don’t go deep into them, you will not know, but Christians condemned each other publicly. You can’t hear about fake imams so rampant as you hear about fake pastors. When Muslims are fasting, the whole world will know, irrespective of the factions, it used to affect so many things, there is nothing in common among Christians all over the world, even in a small village.

When a miracle is done in the name of Jesus, Muslims believe is God, some Christians will say is by the power of devil. I was going to Keffi in Nassarawa state as a Christian preacher, Muslims sat under the sun from 10 am till I arrived by 5pm, nobody left even to go and urinate, because if you do, someone will occupy your space. I turned the city of Minna Niger state upside down, Muslims were at the forefront to welcome me. Chief Imam came to trade fair complex to welcome me, CAN chairman and his cabinet were not at the venue. Muslims knee down to worship, in many churches kneeling down is embarrassment.
Muslims respect Christian clergy men, but Christians don’t even respect their pastors. Muslims obey their leaders, whatever the Imam says, it is obeyed but Christians do argue with their pastors and even engage in fights sometimes. You cannot see Muslims Imams arguing Quran publicly like Christian pastors do argue Bible.
Whatever Muslims want to do, they will stand united and accomplish it, Christians are not united. The first and the last one hundred thousand naira I received in my life as a gift was given to me by a Muslim, since I started the free medical treatment mission. There is no Muslim that does not believe in Jesus Christ.I do pray for Muslims in Jesus name without any fight.
Dont approach a muslim as a churchian, approach him as a Christian. Dont see him as a devil, so that he cannot see you the same. I have more reasons but let me stop here. The rest could be found in my book titled WHY MUSLIMS ARE BETTER THAN CHRISTIANS, it will be launched very soon…

EFCC arraigns banker for N700million fraud
The EFCC has arraigned one Nsa Ayi before the State High Court, Ikeja
- Ayi, a banker, is accused of allegedly diverting the sum of N700million from his customers' accounts
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Lagos Zonal Office, on Monday, February 26, 2018, arraigned one Nsa Ayi before Justice Mojisola Dada of the State High Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos on an 11-count charge bordering on fraudulent false accounting to the tune of N700, 000, 000.00 (Seven Hundred Million Naira), an offence contrary to Section 335(a) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2011.
The defendant, a former Relationship Officer, Coronation Merchant Bank, allegedly connived with unknown parties to move funds using customers’ electronic instructions meant for investment in the Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) Bonds, Treasury Bills and Fixed Deposits.
The defendant was also said to have altered instructions and falsified signatures of customers to transfer money into various accounts outside the bank.
The money was allegedly transferred in tranches into the defendant’s Guaranty Trust Bank account No. 0001600855 as well as his Zenith Bank account No. 1002771899.

One of the counts reads:
“That you, Nsa Ayi, on or about 4th day of February, 2015, being an employee of Coronation Merchant Bank, in Lagos within the Lagos Judicial Division with intent to defraud, falsified account No. 1990000158 belonging to African Alliance Insurance Plc in possession of your employer by debiting the said account to the tune of N172, 076, 712.33, using an instruction which you purported to have been issued by the said African Alliance Insurance Plc.”
Another count reads: “That you, Nsa Ayi, on or about 13th day of January, 2014, being an employee of Coronation Merchant Bank, in Lagos within the Lagos Judicial Division with intent to defraud, falsified account No. 2990001176 belonging to Ogunjemiyo E. Mascot in possession of your employer by debiting the said account to the tune of N4, 277, 000.00, using an instruction which you purported to have been issued by Ogunjemiyo E. Mascot.”
He however, pleaded not guilty when the charge was read to him.
In view of his plea, the prosecution counsel, Nnemeka Omewa, asked the court for a trial date and also prayed the court to remand the defendant in prison custody.
The defence counsel, B.A. Ayeni, informed the court of a pending application for bail on behalf of his client.
However, in his response, the prosecution counsel, Omewa, opposed the bail application, saying that
“he is a flight-risk who had plans to relocate with his entire family to the United States of America last year, if not for the timely response in arresting him by the EFCC.”
Omewa further informed the court that there was no document showing that the defendant’s son was critically ill to warrant him being flown abroad for treatment.

“My Lord, the defendant’s health is very much okay, as he was well fed in the EFCC custody,” the prosecution counsel added.
After listening to both parties, Justice Dada ruled that if the defendant’s son was truly ill and needed medical treatment abroad, the defendant should not be pleading with the court to allow him travel out with his entire family only to treat his son.
“I, therefore, conclude that the defendant is a flight-risk as put before the court by the prosecution.
“There is no guarantee of him coming back to Nigeria, if he had travelled out with his family, despite booking for return tickets,” Justice Dada held.
Consequently, Justice Dada adjourned the case to March 6, 26, 29 and April 16 and 27, 2018 for commencement of trial and remanded the defendant in Kirikiri prison pending the hearing of his bail application.

Gen. Kenneth Minimah (retd), a former chief of army staff, has refunded about N1.7 billion to the EFCC
- The money is believed to be part of the $2.1 billion allegedly misappropriated by the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) under Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd)
- The Presidential Committee on Audit of Defence Equipment Procurement had uncovered “irregularities” in the procurement and award of contracts in the army during Minimah’s tenure
A former chief of army staff, Gen. Kenneth Minimah (retd), has refunded about N1.7 billion believed to be part of the $2.1 billion allegedly misappropriated by the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) under Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd) to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), The Nation reports.
9jahitplay.com gathered that  Minimah, who was the army chief from January 2014 to July 2015, returned the money following an extensive investigation by the anti-graft agency on the report and recommendations of the Presidential Committee on Audit of Defence Equipment Procurement (CADEP).
During Minimah’s tenure, CADEP had uncovered “irregularities” in the procurement and award of contracts in the army and suspicious transactions in the accounts of the Defence Industry Corporation of Nigeria.
A top source, who spoke in confidence, said: “We have interrogated Gen. Minimah and he has started refunding some funds. So far, he has refunded about N1.7 billion in two tranches to the EFCC.
“So far, he has cooperated with us and we are hopeful that he will still make more refunds, in line with some contracts awarded by the Army. But we are likely to arraign another Chief of Army Staff and some ex-military officers in court soon following the conclusion of a comprehensive investigation on them. We are expecting relevant advice from our legal unit.”

About 42 units of Armoured Personnel Carrier(APC) which was uncovered by the panel and was rejected by Iraq were later sold to Nigeria to fight Boko Haram insurgents.
It added: “The Committee observed that one of the new equipment SEI procured for the Nigerian Army from Ukraine was BTR-4E APC. However, according to the Ukraine’s State Enterprise Lviv Armour Repair Plant, the designers of the equipment, some of the products sold to Nigeria in 2014 were actually among 42 units designed for Iraq which subsequently rejected them due to poor performance rating.”
“The Nigerian Army did not also undertake the mandatory pre-shipment inspections provided for in the contract agreements. Instead, the NA deployed an Infantry officer, who lacked the technical knowledge to assess the capabilities and shortcomings of the equipment, to oversee the shipment of the items for the Nigerian Army from Ukraine.
“Additionally, the two weeks training availed the technicians and operators was inadequate for them to comprehend the technical workings of the newly introduced equipment."
The committee noted that its interaction with field operators showed that most of the acquired equipment were aged or expired, lacked spares and prone to breakdown without immediate recovery equipment.
“Therefore, failure to carry out pre-shipment inspection and inadequate training resulted in procurement of some unreliable equipment that reduced the capacity of the Nigerian Army in the North East Operations and resulted in the loss of lives and equipment," it added.
According to reports, an estate, belonging to a former chief of army staff was reportedly seized by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
The estate, allegedly valued at over N4 billion was confiscated on account of the ongoing probe of the ex-army chief over $2.1 billion arms deals.
The estate, which contains more than 30 duplexes built to taste, has been placed under Interim Asset Forfeiture, The Nation reports. The estate is said to be located between Jabi and Life Camp in Abuja and EFCC ‘Keep Off’ sign has already been pasted on the estate.

According to the report, the girls were split into two groups; one was left in an enclave in northern Borno state and the other taken to a village in Niger Republic.
Sources quoted in the report say the girls were abducted by the Musab Albarnawi faction of Boko Haram which is loyal to the Islamic State of West Africa.
The group had lost grounds along the shores of the Lake Chad, the same way Abubakar Shekau, the factional leader of the group suffered and was sacked from the Sambisa Forest base following onslaught by the Nigerian military.

Governor Gaidam said it was not an accuse for the theatre commander to attribute the military withdrawal to shortage of personnel.
“When I met the theatre commander on why the military were withdrawn, he said they have shortage of manpower. To me, it is not an excuse because it’s duty bound for the FG to recruit and bridge the gap,” he added.
On his part, Governor Shettima said the attacks on the girls’ school in Dapchi had reminded him of the abduction of Chibok girls because they are similar.
Shettima noted that the only difference in the attacks is the APC-led federal government has responded swiftly in Dapchi without any denial.
“Neither denial, nor conspiracy theory as was done in the case of Chibok girls abduction under PDP-led Federal Government. We should learn to separate politics from human lives,” he said.
The girls were seized from Government Girls Technical College, Dapchi by suspected Boko Haram terrorists on Monday, February 19.

"Probably thinking that he died, they ran back into the bush and after some time he was able to struggle and come out and drove to Kaduna with the driver."
The politician is said to be currently receiving treatment at an undisclosed private hospital in Kaduna where an operation will be carried out to remove the bullet in his arm.

My wife cries daily - Robert Mugabe Speaks out after being sacked as Zimbabwe 's president

Naijahitplay
Former Zimbabwe president Robert Mugabe has revealed that his wife, Grace cries daily, over the harassment she has received from the country, especially over her bogus doctorate degree.
It was the first time that the former Zimbabwe leader would speak on the emotional torment of his wife, three months after he was forced to step down by the military, according to a report by South Africa’s News 24.
Mugabe reportedly gave this insight into the former first family at a meeting with African Union chairperson, Moussa Faki Mahamat during a courtesy call he made to the Mugabes at their Blue Roof Harare mansion. The former leader also told Mahamat that he doesn’t feel safe and that his pension has not been paid by President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
“They told you I was safe, but how can I be in this environment?,” Mugabe reportedly told Faki at the meeting on 19 February.

“My wife is crying daily. They are persecuting her… What am I without my wife and family? We are not safe,” the Zimbabwe Independent quoted Mugabe as saying, citing “detailed notes” supplied by officials who attended the meeting.
Mugabe said his wife was being harassed over her PhD from the University of Zimbabwe. Last week UZ Vice Chancellor Levi Nyagura was arrested for alleged abuse of office for awarding her the degree in 2014. Critics say her thesis is nowhere near PhD standard.
Mugabe reportedly insisted to Faki the PhD was genuine: “I used to see her here working hard day and night. I would assist her here and there, so how can someone wake up and claim she didn’t work for it? This is harassment.”
According to the leaked notes, Mugabe told Faki that Mnangagwa’s appointment as president was illegal, and appealed to the AU to help restore democracy in the country.
“We want you to assist to restore normalcy and democracy in the country and stop this thing of ruling through guns,” he reportedly said

Animal kingdom: How Monkeys swallow N70m belonging to Northern senators - Sen. Shehu Sani

After a shocking confession of an official of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB, which claimed that a mysterious snake allegedly swallowed N36 million naira, from the Board’s vault, which she made from the sale of scratch cards, another N70m handed over to the Northern Senators Forum has been allegedly swallowed by monkeys in the farm of a ranking senator.
This was revealed to newsmen by Senator Shehu Sani (APC, Kaduna) minutes after Senator Abdullahi Adamu was removed as the chairman of Northern Senators forum.

Senator Adamu was accused of mismanaging N70 million belonging to the Northern Senators.
Shehu Sani said it was alleged that some monkeys swallowed the money.
He said the money was swallowed by the monkeys at the senator’s farm.
Sen. Shehu Sani, told newsmen that under Adamu’s leadership, the forum could not account for part of the money inherited from the 7th Assembly.
According to him, it was alleged that the former Chairman of the Forum handed over N70 million to Adamu at the inception of the 8th assembly but part of the money cannot be accounted for.
“There are some things that some of my colleagues cannot say but I’m not used to holding back what is the truth.
“When we resumed as senators, Sen. Ahmed Lawan tendered the sum of N70 million to the 8th Senate.
“That N70 million was monies gathered by northern senators from the 7th senate. So it was handed over to the 8th senators from northern Nigeria under the 8th Senate.
“I think this country is becoming a huge joke. First of all it was the rodent that drove away the President and we now j snajkes consuming about N36 million, and you now you have monkeys,” Sani said.
